Spiritual Development of Compassion with Homeopathy
I have a nit-ac patient who hates a childish person. People whose other symptoms heal from Nit-ac often have the tendency to hate certain other persons. This patient is a charming beautiful person, so this tendency is striking. She also suffers from a violent inflamation in another part of her body and Nit-ac quells this inflamation if she does not eat certain foods the also cause inflammation. But she is still in the process of healing.
She is unable to show him compassion because of this hatred. Not surprisingly, she is unhappy with the lack of compassion shown to her in her childhood by her relatives.
I do not alway counsel patients, but I asked her to practice compassion on this hated person. Part of the argument that I presented to her is this unrelated, uncared for person is the child that she still brings with her to adulthood. His outside appearance is repulsive to her, but the inside is the same child who needs compassion. She wants to be a Bodhisattva. In Buddism, a Boddisata is an enlightened Buddha who elects to stay in this world to help suffering persons. We are taught to rever the compassion of a Bodisatva. So, a Bottisatva is an ideal compassion.
Contrary to this ideal, I convinced her to think of this unloved person as a vegetable that she might fail at cooking and throw away without shedding a tear. We had been talking about failing at cooking a vegtable dish in the conversation previous to this one. She does not love him, and she was not loved, so she may not be very good at showing compassion. Most of us humans including me are like that, so she is not very a very peculiar person. So, practice on this vegetable, I said. This person who you don't care about is like a vegetable. If you fail to skillfully show compassion, throw that memory of failure and try again on the next suffering stranger. This is an important practice because in the future, a person who you love will need compassion. With that person you don't want to fail, so practice on a stranger first. Practice good cooking with cheap vegetables first.
Maybe I should be patient and just wait for Nit-ac to work. But, I believe that a remedy has the power to bring awareness at a certain stage of spiritual development. Some homeopaths believe that a remedy cannot enhance spiritual development.
At another level, perhaps I am speaking to myself to encourage myself to practice compasssion with my next patient who I may not like. I too have a child in me who feels that she did not receive enough compassion as a child. That child needs compassion and I can practice taking care of that inner child by showing compassion to the patient who I don't really like. I can practice even if I am likely to fail at first.

Found this conversation among homeopaths. If you have anaphylatic reactions to bee stings, you may be interested. Apparently it can be treated with homeopathy. Look at the 4th paragraph.
I didn't know there was a nest of bees under the lid of my recycling bin and
got stung when I put something in there. I must have put my hand right on one
bee. I frantically was looking for my apis and ledum and took the apis and
still swelling and stinging....and redness moving up my hand. 3 minutes later
took the ledum and pain went away in about a minute...swelling and tenderness
left shortly after that. Then I got stung again 2 days later and I'm looking
again for the remedies and by the time I found them....about a minute
later..the pain had gone..no swelling or redness or tenderness.
I gave apis to someone bitten by a wasp years ago and the pain went away
immediately. I'm guessing that it is true that apis isn't as good for bee
stings..better for wasps..and ledum better for bee stings. But I wonder for
people severely allergic to bee stings...and who are dying on the spot...which
would be better? I wouldn't want to have to make that choice.
My hand had some swelling from yesterday’s attack but that is almost all gone.
My foot itched a bit last nite as did my breast this a.m. But all has pretty much
resolved now without doing anything. I, too, began to think remedies, but am
too lazy to even go get them for myself. Stayed in the garden trying to beat the
rain, having a good time working there and figured time would let me know if
anything needed to be done.
I believe Apis works on the anaphylactic reaction, so that would be my first choice for a wasp sting. I have used it on my dog, and it worked a treat. I was also involved in a chronic case where a dog had been given Benadryl for stings, and subsequently developed many sequelae of anaphylaxis, but without the acute throat swelling. Apis given over time handled all these symptoms, including paralysis, constricted breathing, twitching, restlessness, vertigo… It seemed the Benadryl had simply suppressed the initial reaction; a good lesson.
If the Apis doesn't work, Ledum would be my next choice, too.
I am friends with the wasps. When they come around me when eating outside, I put a morsel off on the edge of my plate, and tell them it's for them. They get it, and my terrified friends are amazed. They are carnivorous, and not attracted to sweet stuff.

Patient Guidance:A Deep Reaction to a Nosode
The patient got a strong reactions that goes back to childhood symptoms. He was given a nosode, tuberculinum.
I have been working with him on deep symptoms since 2005. What is left goes back to his childhood. The patient got a strong reactions that goes back to childhood symptoms. He was given a nosode, tuberculinum.

I answered his description of the day long aggravation with this email.
We are waiting for a mood/energy/emotional/intellectual upswing in energy. I don't need endless detail, but the emphasis of the upswing, I would like to know.
Full strength looks good to me (but certainly feels miserable to you.) Watch out for hypersensitivity symptoms. A little hypersensitivity is ok, but we don't want to push that button. Yesterday was a week-end so maybe it was ok to feel sick timing wise. But, you can't be thrown off this way for a normal day. So, if you can afford the day of aggravation on a week-end, let's aim at that, or dillute. You can also wait a full month or more. For you full strength is really strong. It is like you are riding a surf board wave. Wait and find out what that wave is. With this full strength remedy, judging from your repetition of childhood symptoms, we know we are on the right track.
Again, there is no automatic timing. Life, work, and your own feelings are the top priorities. Watch for the energy upswing and weigh the consequences. Of course you can go much slower in improvement with the dillution. Maybe that is the way to go. Not sure. You weigh it out.
Also, it is possible that this remedy is what we call an intercurrent. That is, you use it in between Phos doses. It cleans out stuff for Phos, suddenly Phos symptoms show up and you use Phos not Tub. But that is down the road. So your reports back to me are important. We are still trying the identify the affect of Tub, so for a while let's stick to. You are in the driver's seat. I trust you.
